HYDRATION (VERY IMPORTANT)

This is a cupless/bottleless event, we’re trying our best to be litter-free and generate as little impact on the park as we can, so we count on you to bring your own hydration bottles or vest. Aid Station will be fully stocked to to fill up your bottles and experienced volunteers to help you move forward.

ALL DISTANCES PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN HYDRATION VEST OR BOTTLES.

HELP US KEEP THIS EVENT PLASTIC AND CUP FREE!

1. NO LITTER – LEAVE NO TRACE AUTOMATIC DISQUALIFICATION AND BANNED FROM ANY DTR RACE.

The course must be in better shape then what we found it. We had a team clean up the trails prior to the race to make sure you are running in clean trails. Littering is absolutely against our principle and will not be tolerated.

2. BE KIND to volunteers and other participants on course. Volunteers are up for hours and are there to help you on your mission. Please show them you’re grateful.

3. STAY ON COURSE: If you get off course you must return on your own to the place where you got off and start over. I wish we didn’t have to add this to the rules as cheating is the worst thing someone can do, but if a race marshal catches a person (cheating) you will be banned from any future race that DTR hosts for life. Remember the real prize is the achievement and the bonus is a shiny buckle.

4. BIB – Must be worn in a visible location at all times. Pacers must wear a bib at all times when pacing you. (We have more than one pacer bib so your pacers won’t need to share one.)

5. Have a good time! Remember that is the reason why we do this, right!?!?

MISSING / WITHDRAWAL

if, however, you do decide to withdraw, please notify the nearest Aid Station/Checkpoint so we know you are no longer in the race and are accounted for. If you don’t notify a race official that you left the course, you will be responsible for all emergency search and rescue. All Emergency Evacuation costs for participants or crews will be borne by that person or their heirs. The race organizers are in no way liable or responsible for emergency evacuation.

IMPORTANT LEGAL ISSUES

All racers, crew members and volunteers must sign the Accident Waiver and Release of Liability / Release of Name and Illness . All athletes racing must complete the full form before race day. LEAVE NO TRACE (unlike road races we do not permit that you throw anything on the floor) please throw your trash in aid station area only. If race official catches you throwing garbage in other zones this will give you an automatic DNF.

LAST RULE: HAVE FUN RUNNING THE TRAILS OF JDSP.
