DTR TRAIL RUNNING ADVENTURE VACATION PACKAGE INCLUDES:
Who is this camp for: For the adventure seeker who loves to spend time in nature, that is mentally tough aiming to reach their personal limits, while getting a deep connection with the backcountry of Colorado.
*****Not for the bubble bath type of person.
What to expect: Days will be filled with breathtaking views, epic trails, mountain summits and historic towns!
The DTR Adventure Camp will include mountain traverse where you can face extreme elements, such as bouldering, snow, and steep ascents leading you to the Summit of Mount Sherman at 14,146ft, Located in Leadville, CO. Summit the Sleeping Indian which is almost 2,000 feet climb in 3 miles, crossing over the famous Arkansas River in one of the most beautiful Valleys in Colorado. We will practice tips and techniques, of ascent, descent, using poles and more.
Throughout the adventure, we will explore beautiful historic towns including Leadville, Buena Vista, FairPlay/South Park, Breckenridge, and Frisco. Recovery day will include a VIP pass to soak up in the beautiful Hot Springs of Mount Princeton.
We promise not to leave you hungry! Between meals, our shuttle will always be fully stocked with snacks and hydration. When we are not climbing beautiful trails we will be enjoying local restaurants, live music and local breweries that won’t disappoint your taste buds.
Where will we be running and how do we get there: We will be running the Leadville Mosquito Range Area all above 11,000ft, and the Midland Trail in Buena Vista above 8,000ft. Total expected mileage: 21M with 8,000ft of Gain.
Transportation will be provided throughout the entire trip. Airport/hotel/yurts/hot springs and from the chosen trailheads or run locations.

5pm DTR Shuttle Departs From Denver Airport
You will spend the first night acclimating in the lovely backcountry in the Historic Town of Frisco at the Baymont Inn & Suites.
*****IMPORTANT******* DTR Shuttle leaves 5:00pm.
Please give yourself enough time from your arrival flight. If you miss the shuttle you will be responsible for your transportation to the hotel.

Location: Backcountry Brewery
6:30 am Breakfast: City on a Hill Coffee
A specialty coffee roaster and coffee shop located in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. Located in Leadville’s historic mining community located at the base of the nation’s highest peaks. Leadville is the highest incorporated city in North America. http://www.cityonahillcoffee.com/
7:00 am Depart To Yurt Trailhead
7:30 am Arrive at Yurt Trailhead (Your bags will be taken up by a shuttle) Let’s Run up: 5 miles with a 2000ft accent!
12:30 pm – 1:00 pm – Arrive at Yurts – Lunch will be served family style.
The rest of the afternoon will be free to explore, take pictures and there will be a leisure hike to the Empire Gulch which holds a beautiful Alpine Lake. Here we will stretch and practice High Altitude Breathing Exercises.
6:00 pm Dinner will be Family Style provided by Down To Run.
Followed by an incredible night gazing campfire and local craft beers to enjoy the most amazing night sky of your life.

We will embark on an amazing Traverse From Empire Gulch to Mount Sherman’s 14,000ft summit.
We will pack lunch and plenty of snacks as it will be a 7-8 hour traverse, totaling 11 miles.
All your bags will be brought down by us and the shuttle will be waiting for you at the trailhead.
Items to bring:
-Hydration vest that can carry at least 3 liters of water.
-Waterproof jacket/Wind Breaker
The shuttle will be waiting for us at the trailhead to bring you back to town

After dinner, we take you to Buena Vista, CO

8:30 am – Depart to Sleeping Indian trail
Let’s wake up that Indian! 3 miles sounds easy but when you have to climb almost 2,000 ft in beautiful switchback single tracks, you will realize why the Indian is sleeping, but coming down is a rollercoaster ride! This climb has the best views of the Sawatch Range that have fourteen 14,000 ft mountains.
Optional: If you’re too beat from the traverse, the town offers many cute stores and/or relax by the Arkansas River.
12:30 pm – Lunch at House Rock Kitchen
House Rock Kitchen is a fast casual, from scratch, healthy, fun option in Buena Vista, CO serving sandwiches, burritos, hamburgers, soups, bowls, and more. Check out their delicious menu www.houserockkitchen.com/
After lunch, we will walk and have a quick tour of the beautiful historic Town of Buena Vista.
3 pm Depart to Mt. Princeton Hot Springs Resort
Spend the afternoon in the beautiful Hot Springs Resort of Mt. Princeton. Here, you can soak up in hot springs or cool off in the river. Additional options are bike rentals, spa treatments, hiking trails, horseback. (not included in package price). Please let us know in advance if you would like to book any of these options.
5:30 pm Shuttle will take us to Breckinridge, CO.
6:30pm Dinner in Breckinridge at Kenosha Steakhouse

A circular tent of felt or skins on a collapsible framework, used by nomads in Mongolia, Siberia, and Turkey. The Yurt you are lodging at is very unique. The views are just out of this world and you will experience an intimate contact with the land. Located above the pristine Empire Reservoir at 12,000 ft. above sea level, these yurts are nestled behind the Mosquito Mountain Range and Mt. Sherman. Going over the ridge behind the yurts, the views of Mt. Elbert, Mt. Massive and the Collegiate ranges are spectacular! Opportunities for wildlife viewing include elk, deer, bear, redtail hawk, sheep as well as many other animals.
What should I bring: This is an adventure/running camp so bring the traditional items you would use for trail running including, but not limited to, running shoes; running clothes; running or racing pack; hydration vest with a 2L bladder, headlamp, blister kit, rain jacket, sunscreen, as well as comfortable clothing for when you are not running. Optional: Swimsuit for hot spring.
What are the temperatures this time of the year: Lows in the mid-30s and highs in the mid-80s. Expect lower temperatures with elevation gain.

1. Booking Confirmation
An initial deposit for installment plan is paid – this guarantees your reservation for the 2017 DTR Adventure Camp.
2. We will email you members forms for completion.
These forms will outline the details that we need from you – Member Names and Contact Info, Address, Phone Number, Picture, Etc.
3. Upon receipt of your member forms, we will contact you with further details and trip information. Stay tuned to emails from DTR, make sure you add email@example.com to your contact list.
4. Please remember to book your airfare that best fits your desired camp dates. The earlier the better – we will also contact you and your group to confirm your flights details.
